EPC Project Manager IV

Description:
EPC Project Manager IV is responsible for overseeing highly complex renewable energy projects, ensuring their completion on time, within budget, and in full compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The individual in this role will lead and manage large, cross-functional teams of employees and contractors in the successful planning, design, bid, and construction phases through to commercial operations. Key responsibilities include managing project contracts, engineering, construction, quality control, safety, and communication to ensure the achievement of project objectives. The EPC Project Manager IV will also play a critical role in maintaining and managing the customer relationship throughout the project lifecycle.
The role includes overseeing several major hydroelectric projects, including the Hardy Auxiliary Spillway Remediation, Hardy Crest Compaction, Hardy Splash Wall Remediation, and Hardy Intake Bridge, along with other dam modifications, instrumentation upgrades, and related projects at the Hardy Dam in Newaygo, Michigan. The projects are large-scale and complex, requiring strong project management skills, regulatory oversight, and high-risk design/reconstruction management. The use of Unifier, a collaborative software platform for project management, project controls, contract management, and delivery, will be essential to manage the projects efficiently from initiation through completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional project team, providing technical and project expertise to motivate and guide team members toward the successful completion of assigned tasks.
- Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and execution metrics for the project, utilizing data analytics and trend analysis to address issues and ensure project adherence to schedules and performance targets.
- Manage complex procurement strategies and contracts, including contractor and customer negotiations, ensuring the execution of contracts to maximize operational and financial performance while mitigating risks.
- Oversee and manage project schedules, dependencies, and critical paths using project management tools and methodologies. Regularly update schedules and ensure the timely tracking of progress with appropriate detail.
- Identify and recommend cross-functional processes, techniques, and standards that drive performance improvements, as well as strategies to resolve existing project challenges.
- Direct large project teams and contractors, ensuring appropriate resource management and adherence to project specifications, including regulatory, engineering, and environmental standards.
- Demonstrate strong technical expertise in engineering, construction management, and quality oversight for complex projects. Lead problem-solving efforts for technical and construction-related issues, developing and managing risk mitigation strategies to optimize project execution.

Experience
- Minimum 10 years of applied engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Significant project management experience within the Enterprise Project Management (EPM) framework and Project Lifecycle Processes (PLP) to enhance project predictability and risk management.
