Customer Energy Management Project Coordinator
Employment Type: Contract through December 31, 2025 (High potential for extension)
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Work Schedule: Hybrid (On-site: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday | Remote: Wednesday, Friday)
Position Overview:
CMS Energy is seeking a Customer Energy Management Project Coordinator to support our gas and electric service projects for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. This role involves project coordination, customer interaction, and field support to ensure timely and accurate delivery of energy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison between Consumers Energy, customers, and external stakeholders, ensuring project transparency and customer satisfaction.
- Scope and evaluate distribution design requirements for gas and/or electric systems.
- Coordinate and manage small to large-scale service delivery projects from initial design to construction completion.
- Estimate customer and system energy loads and provide cost estimates.
- Identify necessary permits, generate work orders, and coordinate with internal departments.
- Communicate project status updates clearly and effectively to customers.
- Conduct field visits as necessary to meet with customers and assess project requirements.
- Ensure projects align with internal quality standards and customer expectations.
- Utilize software tools such as SAP and CAD for project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical or scientific field (minimum 48 credit hours), or at least 60 credits towards a technical Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software systems.
- Familiarity with utility distribution systems (gas and/or electric) preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and take corrective action as needed.
