Job Description :
The Sr. Estimator will be responsible for preparing industrial construction cost estimates in support of proposals, project controls, contractor submittals, and project change orders. This role requires a detailed understanding of cost estimation, contract management, and construction processes across various market sectors, including government, energy, environment, and commercial projects.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting, identify cost impacts due to scope changes, and provide cost-effective solutions for large-scale construction projects. Key Responsibilities :
- Cost Estimation : Prepare detailed cost estimates, including lump sum, unit rate, and cost-plus estimates. Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Contract Review : Review contractual documents, such as specifications, ECNs, and RFIs, to identify scope changes, cost impacts, and other modifications.
- Vendor & Supplier Engagement : Obtain cost data and pricing from vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Project Support : Work with construction management teams and provide technical advice to ensure accurate cost estimates for all project stages.
- Change Order Management : Review contractor and subcontractor change order proposals and assist with cost negotiations.
- Estimate Database Maintenance : Maintain and improve the company’s estimating database, ensuring that tools and processes are up to date.
- Continuous Improvement : Proactively support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and cost management practices within the estimating team.
