Work Schedule: Hybrid work model: Onsite (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) & Remote (Wednesday, Friday).
Job Summary:
CMS Energy is seeking an experienced and strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team. The selected candidate will play a key role in negotiating with suppliers to secure materials and services at the best possible total cost of ownership. The role involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies that drive cost reduction, supplier consolidation, quality improvements, and operational efficiencies. This is a critical role that supports Consumers Energy's daily operations, ensuring that sourcing processes are streamlined and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize costs, improve quality, and enhance supplier performance.
- Conduct Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Request for Quote (RFQ) processes to identify and select vendors.
- Negotiate cost-effective agreements with suppliers based on procurement principles, including safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, legal teams, and suppliers to negotiate favorable contract terms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize procurement best practices to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Analyze market data, supplier portfolios, and competitive benchmarks to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality products and services.
- Oversee contract execution and ensure all procurement transactions comply with legal and commercial requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and stay up to date with industry innovations and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement cycles, contract management, and sourcing best practices.
- Strong understanding of business law, commercial terms, and legal considerations related to procurement.
- Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyze statements of work (SOW) and technical drawings to create and align sourcing packages and contracts.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with strong analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with procurement and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools such as SAP, Ariba, PowerBI, and ServiceNow.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
- Experience in project management methodologies such as ITIL, COBIT, or ITSM.
