What are the responsibilities and job description for the Directional Drill Operator position at TPI Utility Construction?
TPI Utility Construction is seeking a full time Directional Drill Operator/Locator for underground utilities. This is a Monday-Friday position.
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge with underground utilities and be able to perform the following:
- Able to read prints
- Assess digging areas to ensure it has been properly staked/located prior to digging
- Locate Utilities such as electric, cable tv, telecommunications, sanitary sewer, waterlines, street lighting and other facilities within predefined construction area
- Set up and operate drill rigs
- Inspect equipment, check fluids, perform daily maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment is operating properly
- Work with crew when not operating equipment
- Complete daily work logs
- Resolve day-to-day issues that may arise
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-year underground construction experience
- Directional drill experience preferred, willing to train the right individual
- Valid CDL License or able to obtain within 60 days
