Position Overview
As a Behavior Technician, you will play a crucial role in implementing individualized treatment plans for clients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other behavioral challenges. You will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide direct one-on-one support to clients in various settings, including homes, schools, and community environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation of Treatment Plans: Execute individualized ABA treatment plans as designed by the BCBA, ensuring fidelity to the established protocols.

- Data Collection: Collect and record data on client behavior and progress, ensuring accuracy and consistency for ongoing assessment.
- Behavioral Support: Utilize ABA techniques to encourage positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors, adapting strategies as necessary based on client needs.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and other professionals to support the client’s overall development and well-being.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to family members and caregivers on behavioral strategies and techniques.
- Reporting: Communicate regularly with the BCBA regarding client progress, challenges, and any changes in behavior or circumstances.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices in ABA and related fields.
- Experience working with pediatric populations and individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Background in special education or clinical counseling is beneficial for effectively addressing the needs of clients.
- Proven experience in clinical research can enhance the ability to apply evidence-based practices in therapy sessions.
- Knowledge of direct support techniques and behavioral health strategies is essential for success in this role.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: Previous experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Certification: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
