JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Professional reports to the Assistant Program Director and is responsible for providing mental health clinical services, direct treatment services to patients, and case management services to clients. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain a caseload of clients.
  2. Adhere to reporting requirements for incidents of Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California reporting laws. 
  3. Document services to meet all clinical program and state requirements, including Short-Doyle/Medi-Cal requirements, noting significant intervention and progress toward development and attainment of a treatment plan.
  4. Meet with clinical mental health services staff for the purpose of reviewing client progress and to assure quality treatment planning.
  5. Review client files at discharge for completion, making written notes of findings, and review findings with counseling staff for the purpose of quality assurance.
  6. Train interns/volunteers in program procedures, specific work assignments, and ethical obligations including client confidentiality.
  7. Provide direct services in the clinic, and in the community, including individual and group treatment, case management, and consultation.
  8. Give input on overall structure of treatment program.
  9. Consult with and/or educate community groups, and other agencies.
  10. Provide supervision and training of other staff as assigned.
  11. Attend and participate in staff meetings and on-site staff training.
  12. Will drive on Agency business.
  13. Thinks and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies. 
  14. Physical presence in the office is required.
  15. Employees are expected to manage their cell phone use so that the Agency cell phone stipend covers all business usage. Any calls not covered by the stipend are to be made on a company landline phone.
  16. The position of Mental Health Professional, and the role as a professional working with people in distress can create increased mental/occupational stress.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Licensed Preferred: Currently licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
  2. Masters:  A Master’s degree in behavioral health science with current registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) or an Associate Social Worker (ASW).
  3. Must be registered with Board of Behavioral Science (BBS). 
  4. Demonstrated skills in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups.
  5. Experience with co-occurring substance use disorders and treatment modalities.
  6. Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to operate within Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. 
  8. Must be available by cell phone as needed.
  9. Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.
  10. Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws.  Agency insurer authorization is required. 
  11. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR BILINGUAL SKILL

  1. Communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish and/or Hmong.
  2. Required ability to communicate effectively with monolingual Spanish and/or Hmong speaking clients and families for all clinical purposes.
  3. Assist with phone calls for Spanish and/or Hmong clients.
  4. Required to provide language translations for case managers and Physicians on a periodic basis.
  5. Minimal adequate competency in the Spanish language as evidenced by successful passage of the TPOCC Spanish Competency Test.
  6. Other translation tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS BBS SUPERVISORS

  1. Licensed as an L.M.F.T. or L.C.S.W. or L.P.C.C. for 2 years or more and is able to provide clinical supervision in accordance with the regulations of the California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS), to A.M.F.T., A.S.W., or A.P.C.C. staff.
  2. Has taken or is able to take (required immediately after hire) BBS approved courses to become a valid BBS Supervisor of associate clinicians.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge and abilities to supervise clinical staff, to provide clinical assessments and interventions using individual, family, and group modalities.
  4. Expertise in supervising and training staff in record keeping, documentation procedures, and client/record confidentiality, as required by professional and legal standards in the State of California, and Turning Point of Central California Policy and Procedures.

    • Monolingual/Masters: Class 167 ($68,700.41- $83,584.55/Annually)
    • Bilingual/Masters: Class 172 ($69,427.71 - $87,848.2/Annually)
    • Monolingual/Licensed: Class 177 ($70,162.7 - $92,329.34/Annually)
    • Bilingual/Licensed: Class 182 ($73,741.71 - $97,039.07/Annually)
    • Monolingual/Licensed/BBS: 182 ($73,741.71 - $97,039.07/Annually)
    • Bilingual/Licensed/BBS: Class 187 ($77,503.28 - $101,989.04/Annually)

  • Qualified non-profit for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program
  • Regular work schedule (Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm)

    Salary : $68,700 - $83,585
