JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Professional reports to the Assistant Program Director and is responsible for providing mental health Clinical Services to primarily TAY-age youth (16-25 years of age), but these programs can service children as well.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide high quality, therapeutic, wellness and recovery oriented, direct therapy services (individual, family, group treatment, case management, and consultation) in the clinic and in the community as necessary to a caseload of clients.
  2. Document services to meet all clinical program and state requirements, including Short-Doyle/Medi-Cal requirements, noting significant intervention and progress toward the development and attainment of a treatment plan.
  3. Meet with clinical mental health services staff for the purpose of reviewing client progress and to assure quality treatment planning.
  4. Maintain and submit all documentation and billing as it relates to client services.
  5. Provide direction to Treatment Team to ensure they are familiar with and understand the client's Plan of Care and work in collaboration with the client.
  6. Communicate closely, in a systematic fashion, with agencies and significant others involved in the rehabilitation of consumers.
  7. Consistently meet program performance standards including a service impact of 50%, sign and submit documentation goals, and attainment of 40 hours of job related in-service training per year.
  8. Provide support as needed in crisis situations or incidents to de-escalate the situations when possible, assess for safety, and safety plan. Responsible for documenting the incident, and recording the action and outcome.                                                
  9. Give input on the overall structure of the treatment program.
  10. Review client files at discharge for completion, make written notes of findings, and review findings with counseling staff for the purpose of quality assurance.
  11. Attend and participate in staff meetings and on-site staff training.
  12. Provide direct services in the clinic, to the court system, and in the community, including individual and group treatment, case management, and consultation.
  13. Consult with and/or educate community groups and other agencies.
  14. Think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.
  15. Will drive on Agency business.
  16. Physical presence in the office is required.
  17. Employees are expected to manage their cell phone use so that the Agency cell phone stipend covers all business usage. Any calls not covered by the stipend are to be made on a company landline phone.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Licensed Preferred: Currently licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with at least two (2) years' post licensure experience.
  2. Masters: A Master’s degree in behavioral health science with current registration with Board of Behavioral Science (BBS).
  3. Knowledge of best practices regarding the treatment of clients with Mental Illness and individuals diagnosed with a Substance Use Disorder.
  4. Knowledge of record keeping procedures related to patient charts and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  5. Experience with co-occurring substance use disorders and treatment modalities.
  6. Current certified training in emergency first aid procedures and CPR, is preferred.
  7. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, Teams, Zoom and other communication/meeting platforms.
  8. Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required. 
  9. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  10. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and TB test.
  11. Must be willing and available to provide a rotation of On-call Services to Persons Served

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR BILINGUAL SKILL

  1. Communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish.
  2. Required ability to communicate effectively with monolingual Spanish speaking clients and families for all clinical purposes.
  3. Assist with phone calls for Spanish speaking clients.
  4. Required to provide language translations for case managers and Physicians on a periodic basis.
  5. Minimal adequate competency in the Spanish language as evidenced by successful passage of the TPOCC Spanish Competency Test.
  6. Other translation tasks as required.

    • Bilingual/Masters: Class 172 ($69,427.71 - $87,848.20/Annually)
    • Monolingual/Licensed: Class 177 ($70,162.70 - $92,329.34/Annually)
    • Bilingual/Licensed: Class 182 ($73,741.71 - $97,039.07/Annually)
