The Princeton Review is headquartered in New York, NY.Summary of Position : The Corporate Counsel will have primary responsibility for employment law-related matters. The Corporate Counsel will also handle contracts with customers (which are mainly state and local government entities and educational institutions) and vendors. As a member of a small legal department, the Corporate Counsel will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of other matters depending on experience and interest.Major Responsibilities : Provide guidance on day-to-day employment-related mattersDraft and revise employee handbooks, policies, and agreementsProvide guidance on and manage outside counsel for employee disputesReview and respond to any changes in employment-related lawsDraft, review, and negotiate contracts with customersReview and assist in preparing responses to RFPsReview and negotiate vendor contractsQualifications : Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; admission to a state bar.3 or more years of legal experience.Experience in employment law.Experience in commercial contracts or government contracts or interest in learning these areas of the law.Prior law firm experience.Strong drafting, critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.Experience in privacy, intellectual property, advertising, and international laws, prior in-house experience, and familiarity with the education services industry or retail businesses preferred.Salary : $109,000 to $150,000 per year, based on a 40 hour work week and your geographic zone.Benefits : The Company provides eligible employees with a variety of benefit programs, generally including health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, 401k plan with company match, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.Location Restrictions : Please note that the above-referenced position can be performed anywhere in the United States except in the following states : Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Mississippi, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota and Wyoming.Equal Employment Opportunity : The Princeton Review is an equal employment opportunity employer.
