Certified Pharmacy Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional patient service in a hospital or acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and aseptic techniques, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, experience with Best RX is a plus.

Duties

• Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including intravenous and inhalation therapies.
• Maintain accurate medication records and ensure proper labeling of prescriptions.
• Provide excellent patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications and health-related inquiries.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care in critical care settings.
• Perform medication administration under the supervision of licensed pharmacists when required.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and aseptic techniques during medication preparation.
• Participate in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications as needed.
• Stay updated on pharmacy practices, regulations, and medical terminology relevant to patient care.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
• Previous experience in a hospital or acute care pharmacy setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and critical care practices.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and medication administration procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
• Bilingual
