What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Service Bookkeeper (Boerne, Tx) position at TR Drilling and Service?
TR Drilling & Service is a dynamic and growing Water Well company in the Texas Hill Country seeking an experienced bookkeeper to manage our accounting and financial functions efficiently.
The position will be responsible for executing cost accounting, billing, collections, paying Vendors and Suppliers, reporting, and clerical office functions including answering telephones daily. Candidate should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently, have time management skills, and exhibit a high level of organization.
DUTIES include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain accurate financial records for the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Supporting cost accounting efforts by tracking and documenting expenditures, including labor, equipment and materials, on a project or job work order basis.
- Supporting payroll functions as provided by a third-party provider, to include timekeeping and onboarding, as required.
- Prepare financial statements for management review.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Manage invoices, receipts, statements and other financial documents
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws (monthly sales tax, annual franchise and income tax) and financial regulations.
- Support collections efforts by placing collection calls/correspondence and following up on payment status.
- Communicate with external accountants and financial professionals as necessary.
- Support general office activities by organizing and implementing office operations and procedures, controlling correspondence, organizing and maintaining filing systems, and otherwise sustaining clerical functions.
QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with additional education background preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of documented work experience, preferably in the contracting or service fields.
- Detailed knowledge of office accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, cost accounting, sales tax reporting, collections, reporting, and file management.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency using computers, multi-line phone, and other means of electronic communication.
- Prior experience in QuickBooks Enterprise accounting software is required.
- Bi- or multi-lingual candidates are preferred.
Candidate should be able to multi-task, self-motivate, and maintain a professional and courteous attitude within a fast-paced office setting. Must be punctual, detail-oriented, possess excellent written & verbal communication skills and have the ability to complete tasks on schedule. A strong background in QuickBooks Enterprise and MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. Prior experience in a construction, contracting and/or service company office would be preferred. Bilingual language skill (Spanish speak/write) is also a plus.
The position is full time, working Monday - Friday during regular business hours. Compensation is expected to be hourly and will be negotiable based on experience.
