Job Summary:
The Production Line Lead is responsible for overseeing all activities within the specified production area to ensure efficient and effective operations. This includes managing employee performance, ensuring order completion, maintaining adherence to safety standards, and enforcing proper packing procedures. The role is key in driving teamwork, ensuring consistent production performance, and adhering to company policies and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Management: Oversee all activities within the designated production area. Train, coach, and develop team members to meet performance standards. Measure employee performance and recommend policies, procedures, and improvements to enhance the overall production process.
- Production Monitoring: Monitor the status of daily orders to ensure the completion of all tasks within customer specifications and Ready Time requirements. Act proactively to resolve issues and maintain a consistent flow of production.
- Packing Procedures: Enforce proper packing procedures to meet product specifications and organizational cost requirements. Ensure the quality and accuracy of packed products before shipment.
- Commodity Allocation: Ensure that the Commodity Managers’ allocations are being followed to maintain the flow of materials and resources necessary for production.
- Team Motivation & Organization: Motivate and encourage teamwork within the production lines. Organize and allocate resources as needed to ensure maximum productivity and morale.
- Staffing & Scheduling: Monitor attendance throughout the day, taking the necessary steps to ensure that production lines are fully staffed. This includes adjusting schedules and re-organizing staff to accommodate any absences or shortages.
- Workplace Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area at all times. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company standards in the workspace.
- Performance & Attendance Reporting: Verify accurate grade-out and recording procedures per production line. Provide regular coaching and reports to higher management on team performance, attendance, and any issues that may impact the production process.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a production or warehouse environment, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of production processes, packing procedures, and warehouse management systems.
- Ability to motivate, organize, and manage a diverse team of workers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and feedback.
- Ability to make decisions quickly and adjust priorities based on production needs.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control and adherence to safety standards.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and move within a warehouse environment.
