Material Handler / Forklift Operator
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our manufacturing team. This role is vital to our operations, ensuring efficient material flow throughout our facility while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move products and materials
- Manage inventory movements and maintain accurate documentation
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments, including container unloading
- Complete shipping documentation including bills of lading and courier paperwork
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper recording of all material movements
- Support production teams by ensuring timely material delivery
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment, including forklift battery care
- Keep work areas organized following 5S workplace organization standards
- Use computer systems for inventory management and documentation
- Assist with additional tasks as needed to support operations
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain Class A forklift certification
- Must be 18 years or older
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Basic math skills and ability to follow written instructions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Preferred
- Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience
- Computer proficiency
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Strong communication skills
- Basic mathematical and writing abilities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds
- Regular bending, reaching, and standing throughout shift
- Capable of performing essential job functions with reasonable accommodation
- Extended periods of standing and walking
