Position Summary:
The Safety & Compliance Leader is responsible for monitoring and enforcing OSHA and FMCSA regulations at TRAC Tire Services (TTS). This role involves leading safety initiatives, conducting audits, and delivering training programs both on-site and at regional TRAC facilities. The safety & compliance leader will also assist with select safety initiatives at the company’s subsidiary. The leader will promote a strong safety culture by ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting continuous improvement, and fostering a safe working environment across all operations.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, which are to be worn on production floor at all times - safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, and/or safety shoes/boots when applicable
- Conduct and audit new hire on-boarding tasks to ensure all required Safety training is completed and maintain safety records
- Maintain safety and compliance records for all of TTS including a weekly scorecard of LTIR , days accident free including maintaining OSHA 300 & 300A forms
- Ensure compliance, assist in the implementation of, and upgrade company safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulation regarding OSHA, DOT and the FMCSA
- Maintain TTS Safety operations and procedures including communicating safety best practices, policies and procedures
- Hold and assist with daily Safety Briefs and conduct scheduled joint Safety meetings on an as needed basis with leads
- Work collectively with safety department team members to conduct, investigate, and respond to near misses accidents and incidents
- Maintain safe and healthful working conditions and recommend measures to reduce or prevent industrial accidents and health hazards
- A minimum 2x audits per at local TRAC tri-state locations which require some travel
- Oversee TRAC Driver management and monitor TTS preventative maintenance program
- Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements, Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
- Ability to clearly and effectively convey information, both verbally and in writing, while also actively listening and adapting to different communication styles.
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience preferred
- Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a MVR background check
- Strong understanding of federal, state, provincial and local regulations and requirements including OSHA and FMCSA regulations
- Experience conducting safety training
- Strong computer skills preferred, Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or other software
- Ability to work within a process-oriented team atmosphere
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, process resolution and implement action in a fast-paced work environment
- Willingness to work on any shift and additional hours on a company needed basis
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads and handle multiple tasks, exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to travel to multiple sites/locations up to 25% of time, may include overnight travel
Physical Requirements:
- This position will require the physical ability to walk stairs, climb, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch and lift/ move objects
- Ability to travel via car and/or plane on an as needed basis
