Machine Tool Maintenance Technician Job Overview

• Maintenance Tasks: Receive work instructions to maintain machinery, including rolling stock.
• Work Orders: Complete work orders and perform root cause analysis, reporting findings to the supervisor.
• Equipment Improvement: Identify and implement equipment improvements.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on all equipment.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform and assist with weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance tasks.
• Communication: Effectively communicate equipment malfunctions and corrective actions to the oncoming shift and department supervisor.
• Safety: Work safely to ensure a hazard-free environment for you and your team.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum of an associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology. A bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in CNC machine tool maintenance.
• Mechanical Knowledge: Proficiency in blueprint reading, gears, transmissions and belts, seals and bearings, shaft alignment, lubrication technology, and application.
• Electrical Knowledge: Expertise in PLC and CNC controls, troubleshooting problems using control diagnostics and ladder logic.
• Skills: Ability to read schematics and understand electrical components such as relays, limit switches, basic wiring, motors, drives, and power supplies.
• Equipment Handling: Knowledge of using overhead cranes and forklifts.
