Machine Tool Maintenance Technician Job Overview
- Maintenance Tasks: Receive work instructions to maintain machinery, including rolling stock.
- Work Orders: Complete work orders and perform root cause analysis, reporting findings to the supervisor.
- Equipment Improvement: Identify and implement equipment improvements.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on all equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform and assist with weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance tasks.
- Communication: Effectively communicate equipment malfunctions and corrective actions to the oncoming shift and department supervisor.

- Education: Minimum of an associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology. A bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in CNC machine tool maintenance.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Proficiency in blueprint reading, gears, transmissions and belts, seals and bearings, shaft alignment, lubrication technology, and application.
- Electrical Knowledge: Expertise in PLC and CNC controls, troubleshooting problems using control diagnostics and ladder logic.
- Skills: Ability to read schematics and understand electrical components such as relays, limit switches, basic wiring, motors, drives, and power supplies.
- Equipment Handling: Knowledge of using overhead cranes and forklifts.
