Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as an Analyst.

Metals Analyst Roles & Responsibilities

As a Metals Analyst your role would involve working in an environmental lab preparing water, oil, soil and sediment for analysis as well as analyzing the samples. You will maintain logbooks, and record data and results accurately and effectively. You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team. The individual in this position reports directly to the Metals Supervisor and is responsible for a number of specific tasks as outlined below under responsibilities.

RESPONSIIBILITIES:

  • Perform the required testing of client samples in accordance with Trace's standard operating procedures in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Maintain precise, complete, legible and concurrent records of work performed in laboratory logbooks.
  • Use a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to batch and prepare sample for analysis.
  • Perform various tests including daily pipette checks, tracking of all area chemicals, and verification of digestion vessels.
  • Cleaning of glassware and keeping work area tidy
  • Disposal of digestates
  • Inventory of supplies
  • Any other job that the area supervisor deems necessary

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience with Mercury analyzers, ICP and ICP/MS, preferred
  • Experience in and knowledge of good laboratory practices
  • Attention to detail, flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks while meeting expected deadlines and handling rush samples

PHYSICAL CAPACITY:

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours or more.
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to carry out daily tasks.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40 hours/week, OT as needed
  • Monday - Friday; 1st shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Lunch: as planned/scheduled per day

In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating data, generating insights, and providing recommendations to support decision-making processes within the organization. You will work closely with various departments to understand their needs and deliver actionable reports that drive business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data using various financial software tools to identify trends and patterns that inform strategic decisions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates on performance metrics.
  • Conduct market research to support business development initiatives and competitive analysis.
  • Assist in the development of forecasting models and budgets based on historical data analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the organization.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar analytical role, preferably within a financial or business environment.
  • Proficiency in financial software is essential; experience with tools such as Excel, Tableau, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.
  • A degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
