Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help with all functions related to quality assurance and control for operations in the company.
- Assist with third party certification and government audits as needed.
- Conduct quality checks on receiving and is authorized to release components/raw materials if specifications are met.
- Assist with setup of specifications for raw materials as needed.
- Enter laboratory results in QMS system and assists in creating Certificate of Analysis for raw materials and finished product if needed.
- Send testing to outside qualified third-party laboratories.
- Assist with the DI Water Testing Program.
- Help with sampling program on raw materials for testing and sample retention.
- Support Laboratory Supervisor with all functions in the laboratory and assures that equipment is up to date for all calibration needs.
- Assist with Line Inspector duties as needed.
- Conduct Identity Testing program for raw ingredients in FTIR and conducts physical and microbial testing in-house based on in-house capabilities.
- Manage in-house gluten testing program.
- Assist with swab laboratory program including making sure equipment is calibrated and environmental swabbing is completed regularly.
- Authorized to conduct certain quality functions in absence of Quality Manager and Director of Quality if trained to do so.
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have 1-2 years performing related duties or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Degree in chemistry or microbiology a plus.
- Working knowledge of 21 CFR 111 and 117 is also helpful.
- Prior Food or Dietary Supplement background a plus.
- Knowledge and proficiency in dilution techniques.
- Must possess proficient writing and communication skills.
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and possess computer skills with understanding of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to speak, write, and communicate in Spanish a plus.
