Leadership Responsibilities :
- Provide technical leadership to all engineering and development areas.
- Provide input and lead improvement of internal company procedures and processes.
Design and Engineering Responsibilities :
Lead the development and implementation of new products.Run certification and global harmonization efforts to consistently maintain compliance with regulations.Perform as top technical authority for opportunities and issues related to tactical solutions.Determine the architecture, logic design, system flows and estimates from a platform perspective.Conduct design activities for component and subsystem integration into a complete product design.Contribute to the development of cross-competing multidimensional designs involving the layout of space-constrained complex integrated circuits for wireless applications.Management :
Manage and mentor a team of engineers, oversee their progress towards their professional goals.Manage department budgets, program and product budgets.Manage team growth, hire engineers, technicians and test staff for the various roadmap needs.Update and govern department policies and procedures.Develop a result-oriented environment to service tactical solutions throughout the business footprint.Strategic direction, Roadmaps and Resource Planning :
Direct team efforts based on internal / external dynamics, resource balancing and prioritized goals.Develop and execute a cohesive and long-term engineering strategy for the company.Explore new markets and product areas from an Engineering and product point of view.Develop competitive differentiation by ensuring the team has best-in-class technical talent to innovate, help win business and solve challenging problems.Provide resources, technical guidance and budget accountability to support R&D activities.Intellectual Property and Inventions :
Lead and execute the formal filing process to secure the critical intellectual property assets of the company through patent, copyrights and licensing efforts.Provide execution and oversight for important research, development, test and evaluation efforts.Cross Functional Operational Efforts :
Partner with other engineering, manufacturing and development teams across the company.Lead field validation and product launch activities in collaboration with marketing and operations.Maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Collaborate with company stakeholders for overall success of the product and program activities.This position will have at least 6 direct reports including : RF Hardware & Test Character Certifications and Compliance Engineers.
Minimum Requirements :
Masters degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or any related Engineering or IT field of study, plus at least three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in any related position(s) in which the experience was gained.In lieu of the above-stated primary education and experience requirements, employer will accept a Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or any related Engineering or IT field of study, plus at least five (5) years of post-degree, progressively responsible experience in any related position(s) in which the experience was gained.Qualified candidates must also have demonstrable knowledge, experience, skill, and proficiency with the following :
Electrical circuit design, Antenna design, RF Circuit design, Embedded systems design.Product certification, Product design, Product Integration, Materials and Radio Propagation.Ansys HFSS, Altium PCB designer, Code Composer studio, Polar SI9000 Impedance Designer.One or more of the following lab tools : VNA, Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer, and Multimeter, Product Wireless certification standards.Cellular Call Box, Anechoic Chamber, Isolation Chamber.Github, Ansys Mechanical, Solidworks.Bluetooth and BLE, LoRa wireless networking, WiFi protocol.Cellular wireless systems, NB-IoT / CAT-M1 / LTE, Embedded systems.No travel required. Work from home (WFH) benefit available on occasion.
