What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Sales Manager position at TractEasy?
TractEasy is a pioneering company in autonomous vehicles for industrial and airport application and is seeking a talented and motivated Area Sales Manager to help develop this new market space. The ASM’s primary role is to create, develop, maintain and grow commercial relationships with potential and existing TractEasy customers by promoting our products and monitoring the support and services continuously supplied to them. The ASM will develop business with strict respect of the Ethical code of TractEasy and its parent company ALVEST and enforce it with any associated agents and/or distributors.
As the market for industrial and airport autonomous vehicles is still emerging, the successful candidate must possess strong technical aptitude, a solid operational background, and a genuine curiosity to educate customers on effectively integrating and scaling this technology within their operations.
The position reports to the TractEasy Chief Commercial Officer with a strong operational connection to the Regional Chief Operating Officer is considered a key member of the overall TractEasy organization, as they are the primary interface between TractEasy and the Customers in a particular region.
Essential Functions
· Being the focal point with the Customer and ultimately responsible for their satisfaction in the commercial process for sales and service.
· Influencing Customer buying decisions by understanding Customer needs and matching them to TractEasy products and services where applicable. This includes:
- Understanding the TractEasy products and their technical and commercial advantages vs the competitors’ products.
- Understanding Customer operation and any product specifications to ensure our product is capable of meeting those requirements.
- Interface with the operations team to develop proposals and presentations
· Understanding then regional market for each product line
· Forecasting the Market and Customer demand to facilitate accurate S&OP.
· Processing customer setup, opportunity tracking and order management in the TractEasy CRM and associated systems
· Manage the credit risk in accordance with TractEasy operating procedures.
Education, Experience, Training & Skills Required
· Bachelor’s Degree required, with a technical or business degree a plus
· Experience with Industrial equipment and Mechanical aptitude helpful.
· Proven relationship building with the ability to be immediately credible with, and accepted by key customers
· A self-starter who can work independently, is driven by personal goals, and is accessible to customers and leadership team
· Strong presentation skills and the ability to present with confidence the technical and commercial features of the TractEasy product lines through various presentation media and on-line web based systems.
· Ready, willing and able to travel on short notice to support customers up to 50% of their time, including some international travel
· A recognized team player who can be productive in a supportive sales culture where collaboration with peer ASMs and the operational team.
