Sr Developer, IT SAP Job Details | Tractor Supply Company

Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing, configuring, building, reviewing and unit testing SAP software solutions. This requires strong knowledge of SAP Application with strong technical and analytical ability in SAP development tools & methodologies, Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) Object oriented programming, Netweaver technology, SAP Portal, Webdynpro, Adobe interactive forms, and SAP process integration (PI) & business intelligence (BI) areas. Additional responsibilities include partnering with the business analysts to review and refine business requirements into core system capabilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

• Meet with technical leads, architects and vendor partners to determine project scope and vision, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, ensure the system is implemented as designed and in adherence to the implementation guidelines.
• Partner with the business analysts to review and refine business requirements into core system capabilities.  
• Assist developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and validating solutions that meet business requirements. 
• Prototype new requirements for the purpose of enhancing technical functionalities and information process flow. 
• Develop, configure, build, review and unit test software/solutions.  
• Assist in quality assurance (QA) efforts on tasks worked by providing input for test cases and supporting test case execution. 
• Work directly with the business users to provide support including the design and development of customer training materials, as well as conducting customer training sessions.
• Mentor team members on new technologies in area of expertise. 
• Work with Enterprise teams to ensure changes are properly documented, communicated, audited, and deployed in compliance with established procedures. 
• Participate in on-call rotational technical support to solve business problems and documents resolution.
   

Required Qualifications

Experience: 6 or more years of SAP ABAP experience in SAP development tools and methodologies, object oriented programming, Netweaver technology, etc. Experience in SAP IS Retail ECC 6.0 modules: material management (MM), finance (FI), and warehouse management systems (WMS). Retail experience is preferred. 

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field is preferred.  Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Professional Certifications: Certifications from SAL such as ABAP, Reportwriter, Smartform, and Netweaver preferred. 
 

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

• Strong technical and analytical ability in SAP development tools and methodologies, ABAP object-oriented programming, Netweaver technology, SAP Portal, Webdynopro, Adobe interactive forms, and SAP PI and BI areas.
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle, relational database, client server concepts, and service-oriented architectures.
• SAP full cycle implementation knowledge is preferred.
• Oracle database and PL/SQL knowledge is preferred. 
• Knowledge of Modern Software Development Processes (Agile, XP, RUP) is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload prioritization to deliver high quality work products on time and with minimal direction.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills.
