Job Title: Lorikeet Experience and Guest Experience Associate

Job Status: Part time, seasonal, non-exempt

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Guest Experience Manager and/or Assistant Manager

Job Summary: This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Operating the Lorikeet feeding exhibit, including:
  • Using basic animal handling skills
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction while maintaining the safety and comfort of the birds
  • Working with the Aviculture team to monitor all the wellbeing of all animals in the habitat
  • Money handling and use of point-of-sale systems
• Greet visitors with a cheerful and courteous attitude. Maintain accurate count of visitors
• Cashiering at the admissions gates or Nature Store in an accurate manner
• Money handling and reconciliation, proper completion of daily admissions report and deposit detail
• Answering telephone calls/questions or forwarding calls to the appropriate contact
• Monitoring items brought into the Aviary and Lorikeet Exhibit by visitors
• Organization , cleaning and facing products in the Nature Store as well as the other GE areas
• Providing excellent customer service and handling customer complaints professionally
• Ushering at Bird Programs
• Selling memberships

Must speak, read and write English fluently. Must have basic math and computer skills; familiarity with Point-of-Sale systems a plus. Ideal candidate will have some experience working with animals at a basic level.

Comments: This position involves lifting heavy supplies, bending, cleaning and carrying of items. This position requires being outside most of the day, including during heat and inclement weather. Must be able to work flexible hours, holidays, early and late hours, promotional events and other necessary times as needed according to guest experience schedule. This is not an animal care position.
