The Role
As a Senior Digital Designer at Trade, you will play a crucial role in shaping the digital experiences that connect coffee drinkers with their perfect coffee at home. In this role you’ll shape all aspects of Trade’s digital experiences, ranging from our homepage and purchase paths, to AI chat interfaces and our subscriber experience. You will be responsible for understanding user needs, translating business goals into intuitive user interfaces, and ensuring a seamless and engaging customer journey on our platform.
Collaborating closely with product managers, creatives, developers, marketers, and other stakeholders, you will use your expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and usability testing to design innovative solutions that elevate our shopping experience. Your work will directly impact Trade's growth trajectory as we strive to become the go-to online destination for the at-home coffee market.
You will…
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand business goals and user needs
- Devise and conduct user research to create actionable insights for new features
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to visualize and communicate design concepts and user flows
- Design intuitive user interfaces and information architecture that enhance the overall user experience on the Trade platform
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and stakeholder input to drive product enhancements
- Ensure consistency and coherence across different pages, customer touchpoints, and devices
- Contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration within the design and product development teams
You have…
- Demonstrated experience in digital design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects and a track record of creating user-centric digital experiences - ideally in the eCommerce and / or subscription space
- Designed engaging iOS and Android experience before
- The creativity and skills needed to translate findings into intuitive and engaging design solutions
- Proficiency in creating wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to effectively communicate design ideas and interactions; experience in designing for multiple devices and platforms is a plus
- A strong understanding of information architecture principles to organize and structure complex content in a user-friendly way
- The exceptional communication skills needed to articulate design decisions, present concepts, and debate ideas
- Have 6 years of experience as a digital designer
- Mentored other designers before

- You know how to jump start user and usability research
- You know how to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to get work done
- You’re an expert working with design tools, specifically Figma

Office Guidelines
While we operate in a hybrid-first environment, the office is open and available for all Monday through Friday. Team members are expected to spend at least three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in-office each week. Our goal is to foster collaboration, connection, and transparency, and we know from experience the important role that in-person time plays in this effort.

Trade is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Salary ranges are determined through alignment with market data. Base salary is determined by a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills.
NYC Base Salary Range
$140,000-$180,000
In addition, Trade offers comprehensive benefits, including company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including vacation time and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
