Tradeco Construction is currently seeking a Business Development Manager for our client Veracity Electric. This position will be based in either Kansas City, KS or Jonesboro, AR. The preferred candidate will be a direct employee of Veracity Electric, as this is a direct hire position. This position reports directly to the CEO of the company. The preferred candidate will build strategic relationships, secure profitable contracts, and expand Veracity’s presence in high-performing market.

Responsibilities include:

·       Establish stronger, measurable relationships with all existing clients by maintaining regular, meaningful engagement and tracking key metrics that reflect the quality and depth of these relationships.

·       Increase the backlog to $15M by the end of Q2 2025.

·       Ensure client-initiated engagements increase.

·       Prioritize and engage new high-performing market segments.

·       Deepen relationships with existing clients by maintaining regular communication, conducting tailored discussions, and fostering trust.

·       Execute lunch-and-learn presentations highlighting Veracity’s expertise and alignment with client goals.

·       Drive backlog increase by the end of Q2 2025 through strategic client engagement and project acquisition.

·       Leverage Phase 1 insights to identify and prioritize high-performing market segments.

·       Utilize CRM to monitor backlog progress, client engagement, and pipeline metrics.

·       Provide leadership with regular updates on progress toward backlog and engagement goals.

·       Partner with project managers and estimators to ensure seamless handoff and alignment on client needs.

·       Work with internal teams to deliver on commitments and exceed client expectations, driving repeat business.

·       Identifying potential market segments, analyzing competitor activity, and understanding industry trends to identify new business opportunities.

·       Actively seeking out new clients through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.

·       Establishing and maintaining strong connections with potential and existing clients, key stakeholders, and partners.

·       Creating customized proposals and presentations to address client needs and demonstrate the value of the company's products and/or services.

·       Negotiating contract terms and pricing with clients to secure profitable deals.

·       Tracking sales opportunities through the sales cycle, managing leads, and forecasting revenue.

·       Contributing to the overall business development strategy, setting sales targets, and developing growth initiatives.

·       Working with sales teams, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.

 

​​Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field with 7 – 10 years’ experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present ideas, negotiate deals, and build relationships.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, including lead generation, closing deals, and exceeding sales targets.
  • Consistently demonstrates initiative and responsibility for achieving goals independently.
  • Uses data, client feedback, and market trends to prioritize opportunities with the highest potential impact.
  • Builds trust-based, collaborative relationships through clear, consistent communication and tailored client interactions.
  • Focuses on achieving measurable outcomes, including backlog growth, client engagement, and market expansion.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments and adjusts approaches based on client needs and market conditions.
  • Proven track record in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of the sales and business development process.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, decision-makers, and stakeholders in the construction sector.
  • Proficient in identifying opportunities, negotiating contracts, and closing deals to meet or exceed company objectives.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, client needs, and business data to develop and execute strategic plans for growth.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and solutions effectively to clients and internal teams.
  • Experience working closely with project managers, estimators, and other internal teams to align efforts and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems to track client interactions, opportunities, and performance metrics.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, and on-site engagements.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems or experience in the electrical contracting industry is a bonus but not required.
  • A bachelor’s degree or certification in construction management, business, or a related field is preferred but not required if equivalent experience is demonstrated.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, set goals, and take ownership of results.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and market conditions.
  • Deep understanding of the industry, market dynamics, and competitor landscape.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Capability to build trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to achieve strategic alignment.

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
