Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cable Splicer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of cable systems, including fiber optic. This role requires a strong understanding of network infrastructure and the ability to work with both hand and power tools. The Cable Splicer will play a crucial role in ensuring reliable communication services for our clients.

Duties

Perform fiber splicing and termination for both single-mode and multi-mode fiber cables.
Install, maintain, and repair telephone lines, LAN, and WAN systems.
Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks to access overhead cable installations.
Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cable installation tasks.
Conduct routine inspections of network infrastructure to identify issues or areas for improvement.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion while adhering to safety standards.
Document work performed and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.

Qualifications

Proven experience in cable splicing, particularly with fiber optics.
Familiarity with network infrastructure concepts, including LAN and WAN technologies.
Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to cable installation.
Experience operating heavy equipment, specifically bucket trucks.
Strong understanding of computer networking principles.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid driver’s license may be required based on job location.
