Tradeco Construction is currently seeking an Electrical Estimator for a large electrical client. This position will be based in either Kansas City, KS or Jonesboro, AR, with the capacity to be a remote position. The preferred candidate will be a direct employee of the client, as this is a direct hire position. This position reports directly to the Sr. Estimator. The preferred candidate will deliver precise, efficient, and competitive estimates that drive the company's growth, profitability, and lasting partnerships.
Responsibilities include :
Submit all assigned project estimates by the established deadlines, achieving a 100% on-time submission rate for all estimates.
Ensure accurate quantity takeoff calculations for all assigned projects by achieving less than 2% deviation between initial takeoff calculations and final project quantities.
Secure at least 25% of the company's awarded projects, contributing directly to achieving $21.5M in revenue for 2025 with $15M in the pipeline by year-end.
Maintain and exceed a company-wide hit ratio of 10% through accurate estimates and strategic proposal follow-ups.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the estimation process.
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, while maintaining a minimum gross profit margin of 20%.
Utilize and master estimation software (e.g., Accubid) to streamline workflows and maintain precision.
Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to clarify requirements and foster collaboration.
Track and analyze hit ratios to provide actionable insights and improve the company’s success rate, ensuring the complete estimation process from bid invitations to proposal submissions is handled professionally.
Maintain organized documentation for all estimates and stay updated on market trends to deliver competitive and realistic proposals.
- Qualifications :
Minimum Experience : 5-7 years in construction estimating or a related field.
Preferred Experience : 7-10 years with demonstrated responsibility in cost estimation and budget management.
Proficiency in Accubid or equivalent estimating software is essential, with the ability to leverage tools for efficient workflows. .
Highly efficient and detail-focused in estimating processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
Analytical mindset to identify and implement improvements in estimating processes.
Capability to manage the entire estimation lifecycle, from bid invitation to proposal submission and follow-up.
