Job Purpose:
We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Cloud Engineer to become a key member of our expanding team. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage our cloud-based network and server infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and emerging industry trends. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based solutions, along with strong skills in network configuration and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
Network Services
- Design and implement VPCs, subnets, routing tables, network ACLs and security groups to ensure secure and efficient network operations.
- Develop and maintain detailed network diagrams and support procedures.
- Monitor network availability and capacity utilization to meet committed availability and quality of service objectives. Provides input into the enterprise capacity planning process.
Server and Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, and manage Windows and Linux servers in both on-premise and AWS environments.
- Maintain and monitor server performance, perform capacity planning, and optimize infrastructure for cost, performance, and reliability.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce network security best practices, including firewalls, ACLs, and VPN configurations.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.)
Automation & DevOps Integration
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to automate the provisioning and configuration of network and server resources.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate with DevOps tools to accelerate deployment and improve reliability.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
- Implement robust monitoring solutions using tools such as Amazon CloudWatch or third-party solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk).
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve network and server issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
General:
- Ensure the creation and enforcement of change management procedures, ensuring all implementations have adequate implementation and rollback plans in place.
- Continuously learn emerging technologies.
Specialized Skills/Qualifications:
Networking: Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, load balancers, and network troubleshooting.
Cloud Technologies (AWS): Hands-on experience with VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFormation/Terraform, IAM, and AWS security best practices.
Server Administration: Proficient in Linux/Unix or Windows Server environments (configuration, administration, performance tuning).
Automation & Scripting: Experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating tasks.
Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Splunk, Datadog, or similar.
Education and Experience:
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- 5 years of Enterprise Cloud Services experience.
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
