JOB SUMMARY
The Mobile App Specialist will be responsible for supporting the technical maintenance, content management, and optimization of the company’s mobile application. This role requires a solid foundation in computer science principles, with a focus on light coding tasks such as troubleshooting, bug fixes, and minor updates within the app’s platform. The individual will assist in implementing app content and styling updates, running QA (Quality Assurance) tests, and supporting the deployment process, and ensuring the app meets performance and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mobile app development, be comfortable working with a codebase, and be eager to apply their knowledge in a practical setting.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

DUTIES/PRIMARY JOB PRODUCTS
- Regularly update and maintain app content, ensuring that all content is up-to-date and aligned with ministry objectives.
- Work closely with the Applications team, and the Digital Product Manager to perform routine technical updates, including troubleshooting issues, resolving bugs, and implementing minor code fixes to improve app functionality.
- Collaborate with the Applications team and the Digital Product Manager to implement new features, enhancements, and updates to the app's functionality.
- Assist in executing regular QA testing plans to identify and resolve bugs or issues in app updates before deployment.
- Support the mobile app deployment process by ensuring that updates and new features are tested, staged, and released according to schedule.
- Monitor app performance post-update, conduct user testing, identify any issues, and assist in optimizing app performance
- Help maintain the app’s codebase by contributing to minor bug fixes, and other improvements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Communications team and ministry teams, to ensure the successful integration of new content and features into the app.
- Document app changes, issues, and improvements, ensuring clear communication with the team and stakeholders.
- Assist in conducting user research
- Stay current with best practices in Rock RMS mobile app framework, and in mobile app development, including code optimization, testing, and deployment strategies, and apply new learning to daily tasks.
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
- This position reports directly to the Digital Product Manager
- Participate as member of the IT staff and attend applicable meetings and required special events
- Actively engage ministry teams, maintaining productive and healthy relationships with Traders Point ministries and the staff within each.
- Actively maintain high functioning relationships with Digital Product Manager, IT Applications team, and Marketing and Communications team
- Maintain consistent interactions with Traders Point ministry teams and guests, facilitating clear discernment of user experience with Traders Point website
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Liquid (Lava as implemented in Rock RMS)
- Familiarity with Content Management System (CMS)

- Navigating corporate culture and organizational dynamic to identify and produce technical solutions leading to desired outcomes
