Job Summary
The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for TPCC’s IT infrastructure including servers, network hardware, and other system administration duties.
The IT Systems Engineer is the first escalation point for support of the Information Technology Ministry, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting current computer systems and server infrastructure in use by staff and in the Worship Center, across all TPCC locations and owns all of TPCC’s IT processes and communications.

The IT Systems Engineer is the first escalation point for support of the Information Technology Ministry, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting current computer systems and server infrastructure in use by staff and in the Worship Center, across all TPCC locations and owns all of TPCC’s IT processes and communications.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
- Assure timely and efficient deployment of new hardware – workstations, notebooks, servers, check-in systems, mobile devices, and other accessories
- Execute the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, based on and related to user or operating system specifications
- Monitor performance of regular computer & server maintenance, program updates, repairs and troubleshooting as needed
- Conduct application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications
- Create and maintain a calendar for preventative equipment and software maintenance and refresh cycles
- Develop well-documented procedures for and coordination of general tasks such as adding and configuring new users, managing back-up, etc.
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of current technologies and trends relevant to TPCC needs and proficient hardware upkeep, software usage and systems/server maintenance
- Conduct uniform updates and upgrades/additions to system/server security, in order to maintain strong information security protocols across all TPCC IT infrastructure.
- Ensure timely resolutions of escalated helpdesk requests.

- This position reports directly to: IT Systems Manager
- Serve under the general oversight of the IT Director (CIO) and report to the IT Systems Manager
- Participate as member of the IT staff and attend applicable meetings and required special events
- Will be fully engaged in the ministry of TPCC
- Work closely with the IT Systems Manager to manage all TPCC networks and systems/servers on as-needed basis
- Collaborate with the IT team and volunteers performing back-up and system/server support, as needed
- Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 technical support as needed for all TPCC ministries, escalating any high-level issues to the IT Systems Manager.

- Providing technical support for systems at a 2nd or 3rd tier level
- Interest in and ability to track industry trends and determine what will impact TPCC

- 10 or more years of direct experience in corporate technology development, maintenance, and administration
- Designing, testing, and implementing secure operating systems, networks, and databases
- Designing and executing info security practices, policies and procedures including, but not limited to: Password auditing, network based and Web application-based vulnerability scanning, virus management, and intrusion detection
- Conducting risk audits and assessments, providing recommendations for application design
- Monitoring and analyzing system access logs
- Planning for security, backup and system disaster recovery
- Establishing operational plans for systems and technical support.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems software and hardware for multi-user server computers and/or personal computing devices including:
- Meeting end user needs by ensuring the uptime, performance, resource availability, and security of the computers managed within established budgets and operational guidelines
- Acquiring, installing, and upgrading computer components and software and planning for/responding to service outages and other problems
- Automating routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems software configuration and enhancement
