Your Role with the Company
As a level I Fire Alarm Installer, you will work as part of a team to pull cable in J hooks, bridle rings, conduit, and other types of support structures. You are familiar with basic device terminations (such as strobes, pull stations, and smoke detectors) and can select outlet / junction boxes, cable, and conduit. You will be familiar with Ohm Meter operation and capable of assisting with basic testing and troubleshooting. You will have a basic understanding of the various types of fire alarm systems, electrical requirements, alarm initiating devices, control functions, and alarm indicating appliances. You also have a basic understanding of the NFPA standards as it relates to fire alarm installation including terminology such as “shall” and “should” and the role of the “authority that has jurisdiction”. You will understand the wiring requirements and protection of wiring for fire alarm systems.
