Position Summary:
The Vice President of Operations (VP of Operations) at Tradewell will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operational activities, ensuring that the business runs efficiently and effectively across all departments. The VP of Operations will provide leadership across all functions, including supply chain management, customer service, quality control, inventory management, and operational efficiency, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive operations strategy to drive the company’s growth while ensuring optimal cost efficiency, customer satisfaction, and quality.
- Lead the execution of strategic initiatives across the organization to streamline processes, improve productivity, and achieve financial and operational goals.
- Align operational goals and KPIs with company objectives, driving accountability at all levels.
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational systems, workflows, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team across multiple operational functions, including supply chain, logistics, production, customer service, and quality assurance.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to direct reports and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with company culture, goals, and standards.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages problem-solving, creativity, and continuous learning.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for operational excellence.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Oversee the end-to-end supply chain management process, including procurement, inventory control, logistics, and distribution.
- Identify opportunities for cost reductions in supply chain activities, improve forecasting accuracy, and reduce lead times.
- Ensure that inventory levels are optimized to balance demand and supply while reducing waste and excess stock.
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
- Continuously assess internal processes and operational workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Implement lean management principles, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to reduce waste, improve quality, and enhance overall productivity.
- Champion the adoption of technology and automation tools to streamline operations and improve operational performance.
- Lead efforts to standardize processes across locations, ensuring consistency, quality, and operational excellence.
Customer Experience & Service Delivery
- Work closely with customer service teams to ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded through timely, quality deliveries and exceptional service.
- Monitor and improve key customer-facing operational metrics such as delivery times, response rates, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution.
- Analyze customer feedback and operational performance data to identify areas of improvement and enhance the overall customer experience.
Financial Oversight & Budget Management
- Manage the operational budget, ensuring that spending aligns with company priorities and does not exceed financial targets.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure cost control, profitability, and optimal use of resources.
- Analyze and report on financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs, and improve the bottom line.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the company’s operational cost structure while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure that all operations comply with legal, regulatory, and industry-specific standards.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks that could affect the business, including supply chain disruptions, safety hazards, and compliance issues.
- Oversee the creation and enforcement of safety protocols and quality control procedures across the organization.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure that the company adheres to all relevant laws and regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational objectives with company-wide goals and strategies.
- Partner with marketing, sales, and finance teams to ensure seamless coordination of activities and the efficient delivery of services and products.
- Lead communication efforts across departments to ensure transparency and alignment on operational priorities, challenges, and opportunities.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational functions and regularly monitor progress to ensure goals are met.
- Prepare and present operational reports to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Use data and analytics to drive decision-making, identify trends, and proactively solve problems.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 10 years of experience in operations, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale operations and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Strong experience in cost management, process optimization, and team leadership.
- Experience in industry-specific operations
- Familiarity with technology solutions like ERP systems, automation tools, and analytics platforms.
