ABOUT THE CANDIDATE / ROLE
Tradewind Aviation is looking for a full-time Dispatch Manager to be based in Oxford, CT. The Dispatch Manager will be enthusiastic about applying their skills towards maintaining and improving the overall performance of the Dispatch team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service for all Tradewind clients through innovative thoughts and ideas to ensure ongoing improved performance and overall operational success.
The Manager role is part of the Scheduling and Dispatch Leadership Team and will work cross-functionally with the Sales and Service teams. This lead will lead a team to ensure that all flights are being executed safely and at the highest level of service possible.
Must be flexible with work schedule and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Competitive candidates will be able to report on-site daily throughout the Oxford, CT campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, mentor and coach Dispatch Supervisor(s) and team members, ensuring a positive, collaborative work environment. Foster individual growth through regular feedback, performance management and career development.
- Cultivate a customer-focused team culture where employees anticipate and exceed client needs, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and service delivery.
- Lead the hiring process by conducting interviews, selecting top talent and ensure new hires are effectively onboarded and integrated into the team.
- Continuously improve training materials and programs to enhance employee performance.
- Mange the scheduling of full-time, part-time and on-call employees to meet operational needs.
- Address seasonal staffing changes and ensure adequate coverage across shifts.
- Work with team members to achieve daily, monthly and annual goals.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure SOP compliance, smooth workflow and alignment of objectives.
- Foster communication to maintain efficiency across the organization.
- Regularly evaluate and recommend updates to departmental policies and procedures.
- Involve team in process improvement to enhance performance, compliance and efficiency.
- Participate in the Dispatch safety management system data analysis to evaluate trends and improve safety and performance metrics.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Scheduling and Dispatch.
- Regular on-call responsibilities.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of managerial experience
- FAA Dispatch license or 3 years of applicable experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Strong multi-tasking capability
- Attention to detail
- Demonstrate consistent high level interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential matters with employees and clients
- Demonstrate professional diplomacy and problem-solving skills
- Experience with aviation scheduling software
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at times
