Under the direction of the Chief Engineer and / or Engineering Manager, the HVAC Technician specializes in the maintenance, repair, and operation of a hotel's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, primarily focusing on the mechanical components like chillers, boilers, and air handling units, ensuring optimal comfort and functionality for Guests within the resort.
Responsibilities :
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).
- Adjusts, repairs, troubleshoots and maintains heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Take required readings on equipment.
- Test cooling tower and record readings.
- Performs all preventive maintenance on systems and maintains applicable log books.
- Conducts walk-through inspections; changes belts, filters, adjusts volume dampers, checks gauges, coils, drain lines, bleeds gas lines, resets compressors, check unit sensors, relocates ductwork and troubleshoots to locate sources and cause of malfunction.
- Assists with estimating parts, supplies, equipment and labor hours needed to complete assigned repairs and monitors computer for malfunctions.
- Maintains quality of air, air flow and temperature at on and off-site facilities; adjusts valves to regulate temperature of lubrication oil and flow of water through system.
- Records gauge readings, repairs completed and time lost due to inoperative equipment.
- Maintains technical logs and records all relevant data as appropriate.
- Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
