Job Summary

As a Research Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving our trading strategies and technology forward. You will work at the intersection of quantitative research, data analysis, and software engineering to develop, implement, and optimize models and algorithms that power our market-making activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient and analytically driven individual who is passionate about financial markets and enjoys solving complex problems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Algorithm Development : Collaborate with quantitative researchers to design and implement trading algorithms, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and performant.
  • Data Analysis : Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights, identify patterns, and improve trading strategies.
  • Model Implementation : Translate quantitative models and research ideas into production-grade code, ensuring seamless integration with our trading systems.
  • Performance Optimization : Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of trading strategies, focusing on latency reduction, execution quality, and risk management.
  • Backtesting : Develop and maintain backtesting frameworks to evaluate the effectiveness of trading strategies under different market conditions.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and software engineers to ensure alignment between research findings and trading objectives.
  • Innovation : Stay abreast of the latest technological and academic developments in the fields of financial engineering, machine learning, and algorithmic trading.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background : Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Programming Skills : Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C , or Java, with a strong focus on writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Quantitative Skills : Solid understanding of statistics, probability, and numerical methods. Experience with financial modeling is a plus.
  • Data Handling : Experience with large-scale data processing and analysis using tools like Pandas, NumPy, SQL, or similar.
  • Software Development : Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control (Git), testing, and continuous integration.
  • Market Knowledge : Basic understanding of financial markets, market-making, and trading strategies. Prior experience in the financial industry is an advantage but not required.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and adapt quickly to new challenges.
  • Team Player : Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Experience with high-frequency trading (HFT) systems or low-latency software development.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and their application in financial markets.
  • Prior experience working in a market-making or proprietary trading firm.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and practices.
