Position: Floor Team Member

We are currently seeking a Floor Team Member to join our growing team at the Trading Post store in Glenville, MN. At the Trading Post, our employees are a part of a company that values their employees and work with people who love their environment. The main role of the Floor Team Member will be general warehouse work and helping in the store as needed in different areas.

Job Description:

• General warehouse work
• Assist in store janitorial duties as needed, empty garbage cans, cardboard and pallets picked up, etc.
• Receive, open, unpack and issue sales floor merchandise.
• During the receiving process, check all products for accuracy, by verifying the items are what was ordered, correct quantity, and undamaged. If there is any damage, missing shrink wrap, loose pallets, etc. needs to be noted on the driver’s bill of lading before any signature is given, this is very important.
• Ensure product is accurately received, marked on packing slip, and put away in the correct area in numerical order.
• Work with purchasing coordinator to report/file claims for any incorrect or damaged product, over/under shipments, missing product, etc.
• Pull, package and ship/stage orders for pick up.
• Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise.
• Keep warehouse clean by making sure product is in the correct spot, floors swept, etc.
• Assist purchasing coordinator to accurately sort and load Pace transfer items on time.
• Take inventory or examine merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
• Answer customers' questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.
• Clean shelves and aisles.
• Answer phone calls.
• Itemize and total customer merchandise selection at checkout counter, using cash register, and accept cash or charge card for purchases.
• Pack customer purchases in bags or cartons.
• Stamp, attach, or change price tags on merchandise, referring to price list.
• Transport packages to customers' vehicles as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to at least 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete for an entire work shift
• Self-motivated
• Willingness to work in multiple areas of the store as different needs arise
• Some knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Education:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent

Other Requirements:

• Regular and reliable attendance is required in the position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Rotating weekends

Experience:

• Retail sales: 1 year (Preferred)
• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
• Warehouse: 1 year (Preferred)
