Tradition Golf Club is a special place. We are known for our golf, our beauty, history and warm and friendly members. Tradition offers an 18-hole course, 9-hole par 3 course, practice facilities, over 100 member and family events, full fitness facility, spa services, bocce ball, pickleball and many enriched programs and fun social events.
During the fall, winter, and spring seasons, Tradition Golf Club operates and is looking to fill a full-time or part-time position from approximately October 2024 to June 2025. Candidates must have a flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, as non-traditional work hours are necessary for the role. Time off requests will not be granted in March or April, as these months are key event and festival months.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Server position at Tradition Golf Club is not just about putting food on the table that our members will enjoy until they leave. Our Servers build an experience that is memorable and unique – with food and drinks on the side. Our Servers take the initiative and deliver a wide range of services to make sure that members and guest enjoy their meals. Whether setting tables, communicating with the kitchen, interacting and serving our members, or cleaning work areas and supplies, our Servers make transactions feel like part of the experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Sets up side station and performs assigned side (prep) work
- Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon seating
- Ensure that the correct account numbers and names are given for billing
- Efficiently serves food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offers suggestions on daily specials and wine selections
- Places orders with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instructions
- Checks back to ensure member and guest satisfaction; replenishes water and butter as necessary
- Presents dessert menus, suggests and serves dessert, coffee and after-dinner drinks
- Verifies accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips and other charges on all checks
- Handles all members’ charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures
- Keep dining room and bus station areas clean
- Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur
- Performs clean-up and closing duties as assigned by F&B Manager or equivalent
- Attends pre-meal meetings as requested by the Lead Server; F&B Supervisor; F&B Manager; or Director of F&B
- Comply at all times with Tradition Golf Club standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient club operations
- Comply with certification requirements as applicable to the position including Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers Safety etc.
- Be familiar with the organization of the restaurant and tavern and know the function of each job position
- Have a thorough knowledge of menus and specials in the restaurant
- Service members/guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm friendly courteous and professional manner
- Set tables according to type of event and service standards
- Clear clean and reset tables as needed
- Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system
- Carry out cashiering functions in closing checks and end-of-shift paperwork ( treat it as cash)
- Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties according to station rotation assignment
- Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager
- Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represent departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers
- Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma/GED
- 1-3 years of related experience in full service/upscale dining (Preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described on the attached “Physical Demands of Position” chart are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move, and work throughout the property, including walking up to 1 mile, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods of time. Also, may be subjected to a smoke-filled environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located in the clubhouse event environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
