The Culinary Assistant is responsible for assisting in the operation and management of the Dietary department, which includes supervising staff and food production operations. The assistant also ensures the community maintains nutritional standards, state requirements and other functions to ensure quality of service.

We are seeking a dedicated Culinary Assistant (CA). The Culinary Assistant is responsible for assisting in the operation and management of the Dietary department, which includes supervising staff and food production operations. The assistant also ensures the community maintains nutritional standards, state requirements and other functions to ensure quality of service.
Essential Duties:
- Assists the Director of Culinary in supervising food preparation using techniques that conserve nutritional value, flavor, and appearance.
- Assists the Director of Culinary in ensuring food preparation and service that leaves the kitchen is served to residents in scheduled time frames.
- Assists in interviewing residents, family members, legal representatives, and significant others to obtain and update information needed to develop individualized plans of care to accommodate individual needs and preferences and to protect and promote residents’ rights.
- Stores, prepares and serves all food under sanitary conditions to prevent the transmission of food-borne illness.
- Ensure the department is maintained cleanly and safely by maintaining necessary equipment and supplies.
- Make rounds in the dining rooms to become familiar with residents and offer supervisory presence and support to staff.
- Must have completed all ServSafe educational requirements
- Excellent organizational, time-management and computer skills
- Work independently, maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and be a positive leader
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
