Activities Assistant
Part-Time, Saturday and Sunday, EVERY OTHER WEELEND, 9AM - 4 : 30PM
SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTIONS
To carry out appropriate resident activity programs, using the philosophy, objectives and policies of the community.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Carries out monthly activity calendar with varied activities.
Recruits, organizes, trains and recognizes volunteers to expand and supplement the activity program while including the largest number of residents possible.
Involves resident families, the community and volunteers in activities to help the resident transition and maintain a satisfying well-being and positive state of mind.
Encourages residents to participate in meaningful activities.
Maintains all activity areas in a neat and orderly manner.
Participates in Resident Council meetings as needed.
Assists the Community Relations Director with coordinating community events.
Maintains community involvement.

NON-ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Other duties as assigned.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends due to special events.
Education and Qualifications
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to chart accurately. Ability to speak effectively before residents or coworkers.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid State Issued Driver’s License and must be 21 years of age.
