What You'll Do:
MEATER is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our team that will help create new designs and streamline and control the quality of print and digital material. As a MEATER Graphic Designer you will interface between internal clients, vendors, and the management team to produce the best possible prints and deliverable assets. A strong understanding of layout, type, color usage, and the ability to take conceptual designs and create completed digital print-ready files is a must.
How You'll Help Us Win:
- Creation and production of new branded content including, but not limited to packaging, catalogs, emails, and web banners using the brand standards as a guide.
- Prepare sketches or layouts to illustrate a concept and select the colors, artwork, photography, style of type and other visual elements to compliment the overall message/concept.
- Thoughtful execution of ideas from our marketing VPs and other internal clients through research, communication and adherence to creative briefs.
- Modify and suggest improvements to increase the quality of production and ensure that standards are met for print and digital mediums.
- Participate in Creative brainstorming meetings.
- Scaling, cropping, retouching, repositioning and pre-flighting, or eliminating defective and excessive imaging.
- Finalize, upload and ensure the accuracy of design files in the latter stages of development.
- Troubleshoot problems with external vendors, internal creative team and all members of the brand.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including graphic designers, copywriters, social media managers, etc. to assess needs and schedule.
What You'll Need to be Successful:
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
- Experience working for premium consumer brands sold through national retailers.
- Experience in visual merchandising, collateral and sales materials design and production.
- Strong knowledge of both print and digital processes.
- Demonstrates proficiency with use of software design programs such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, XD and Illustrator.
- Strong compositional skills and knowledge of industry-related trends.
- Capacity to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to function under own initiative, and under instruction.
- Must work amicably within a team, remain organized, handle various projects at one time, follow up and make accurate decisions.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and occasionally stressful environment, while continually meeting or exceeding deadlines.
- Navigate smoothly between digital graphic design and traditional print media assignments.
- Communicate clearly and effectively.
- Pay close attention to detail in order to find any errors in production proofs.
- Demonstrate proficiency at being able to work on multiple projects at once.
