Job Summary
The Production Team Lead is responsible for leading and directing the workflow of the Production Team to process and configure Chromebooks, Laptops, Desktops and other devices for customer orders, within established timeframes and quality standards, as directed by the Production Supervisor. Your performance will be evaluated based on established expectations for Production Team Leads.
The schedule for this role is Monday - Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Production Team (Production Associates and Production Tech 1s).
- Refer to “Production Team Lead Expectations” document around performance expectations for the role, under the areas of “Leading Team”, “Work Quality”, and “Individual Performance”.
- Lead team members in processing orders, motivating them to achieve successful KPIs and meet customer expectations while maintaining quality standards through personal example and feedback on performance.
- Weekly tracking of output for your team, using the information to provide feedback or retraining.
- Quality check Production jobs (per guidelines) and provide feedback on defects to the team.
- Ensure that team members adhere to proper testing procedures and guidelines, informing Production Supervisor of issues or concerns that arise.
- Guide your team to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and successful customer satisfaction.
- Work with Production Support and Material Handler to address any needs as they arise (asset tags, teensys, green pack, logins, etc)
- Partner with the Material Handler for all request to bring product to team members’ benches.
- Monitor the safety and wellbeing of the Production Team and the cleanliness of the Production areas, working with Production Supervisor to ensure the success of the department.
- Ensure the team is aware of and meets day-to-day targets and responsibilities.
- Host daily meetings with your team to improve communication.
- Work to fulfill the primary function of the team, to include:
- Assist team members in the processing of Chromebooks per the customer order specifications (to include, e.g., installing cases, applying asset tags, pulling MAC addresses, enrolling into management, OU movements, installing eyesafe, etc.).
- As needed, assisting teammates with the unboxing of Chromebooks to prep them for processing, to include the disposal of associated cardboard and packaging materials; assist teammates in processing refurbished or new Windows devices for customers and teardowns of devices for repair or inventory.
- Support production supervisor with managing performance expectations for all team members; assist with interviewing and identifying new team members.
- Assist with orientation of new Production Team members, ensuring they receive proper training and resources to be successful.
- In efforts at continuous improvement, identify areas of concern, means of improvement, and ways to increase efficiency, communicating them to Production Supervisor which include, but are not limited to: Gemba walks, waste walks, time trials, etc.
- On a continual basis, work to anticipate problems that may occur with order processing, putting in checks and safeguards to prevent them.
- When problems occur, work to identify their root causes and implement or recommend changes to prevent them from occurring again in the future.
- Provide product expertise with ability to advise team.
- All other duties assigned by management.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least three years related experience required.
- Hardware certifications a plus (A , ACMT, etc.).
Essential and Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing working on benches.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to report to and work from any Trafera facility in the Twin Cities metro area (MN) as required.
