About this Role :
The Senior Estimator will support the Estimating team in developing and preparing timely estimates and bid proposals in a fast-paced environment. This person will work with the other team members and their supervisor on getting pricing out to the customer, reviewing specifications and structural engineering plans, get pricing from manufacturers for estimates / quotes preparation, and help with Request for Quotes.
Responsibilities :
Review DOT websites for new jobsPrepare and review quotes / estimate sheets in a clear, concise and well justified format for client submissionField customer requests for quotes and create detailed breakdowns of project costsInteract with suppliers and / or purchasing department to obtain pricing information, and secure competitive quotes for materials and components as neededReview specifications / structural engineering plans and send them to manufacturers to help prepare quotes / estimates while accurately assessing :Required labor hours and skill levelsEquipment costsQuantity, size, and cost of materialsOverheadMarket fluctuationsProfit marginsPotential risks & uncertaintiesContingency planning into costsWork in applicable software to track schedules and deadlinesProactively partner with other team members and / or management to sort out pricing internally by reviewing mark-ups and quotesMaintain in-depth, working knowledge of relevant technical standards, manufacturing processes, and industry practicesServe as a critical link between engineering, purchasing, and project management by ensuring cost estimates are aligned with client needs and project requirements.Any and all remaining prep work that goes into putting an estimate togetherAny other duties as supervisor or the President / CEO may requiredPosition Qualifications Competencies & Skills :

Bachelor's Degree, preferred3-5 years of experience working with an estimation department, requiredExperience reviewing technical details, reading blueprints / schematics, and specification plan sheets, requiredExperience with pricing; strong math aptitude and pricing, required5 years of hands-on electronics hardware and wiring experience, highly preferredPrior knowledge of cost estimating software and tools, highly preferredUnderstanding of relevant industry standards and regulations, highly preferred but not requiredThe Ideal Candidate for this position will :
