What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Processor (Entry Level) - Headquarters position at Traffic Management LLC?
Performs all activities necessary to process 1 or more payrolls per week, to keep the system updated by making entries, general record keeping duties and various other systematic and payroll related duties. General reporting functions as well as assisting with compliance.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinate the daily activities of the payroll function to facilitate the timely delivery of payroll in an efficient manner
- Edit, balance and review check runs for payroll audits
- Establish and maintain employee/payroll records
- Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards
- Maintain time and attendance records
- Calculate and process garnishment orders, retirement adjustments and contributions
- Calculating, recording and reconciling payroll deduction to carriers invoices
- Tracking PTO accruals, time off requests and ensuring accurate record keeping
- Maintains knowledge of IRS federal, state (California, Michigan, Illinois, Colorado &Washington) and local tax laws, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
- Conducts inquiries into union contractual guidelines to ensure payroll compliance for PW jobs
- Edit, balance, and review check runs for payroll; ensure accurate printing, signing and distribution
- Support compiling certified payroll data in order to compose certified payroll reports for submission to customers and regulatory agencies
Required Knowledge:
- Federal and State labor laws as they pertain to payroll
- FLSA labor standards
- Knowledge of prevailing wage practices and requirements
- Federal Davis-Bacon Act and Related Amendments
Basic Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Requires the ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and / or analyze data and/or information as well as the ability to exercise discretion when referencing such analysis to established standards
- Ability to foster a professional and team-based working environment
Equipment Operated:
- Basic office equipment (fax, copier, computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc.)
- Ability to drive a vehicle
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Requires standing for prolonged periods of time

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- 1-2 years of payroll processing experience
- Experience working with ADP Workforce Now
- Preferred candidate must have:
- 70% or better on pre-employment testing
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
