Job Description:-
Client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Kong Developer with extensive experience in technology modernization, and building API marketplaces to join our team and lead the design, implementation, and optimization of API Gateway solutions using Kong API Gateway. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kong s ecosystem, API management, and integration with microservices architectures.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Design, develop, and maintain Kong-based API Gateway solutions.
- Lead the modernization of legacy APIs to scalable, cloud-based solutions on AWS.
- Design, implement, and manage Kong API gateways and build API marketplaces.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Integrate Kong with backend services, databases, authentication systems (OAuth, JWT, OpenID Connect), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Drive API migration strategies to AWS Cloud, ensuring best practices in security, performance, and scalability.
- Develop and integrate .NET-based microservices with Kong API Gateway.
- Deploy and manage Kong API Gateway on AWS, leveraging services like AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, EKS, and CloudFormation.
- Optimize API architectures for reusability, maintainability, and high performance.
- Identify problems, and opportunities for technology innovation with a focus on Modern application development.
- Champion operationalization for Kong API marketplace.
- Document API configurations, policies, and best practices for internal teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:-
- 12 years of experience in software engineering, with 5 years in API architecture.
- 3 years of hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway.
- Expertise in Kong API Gateway and AWS cloud services (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda, ECS).
- Strong experience with the following: Microservices architectures, Cloud-Native architectures, Event-driven architectures, APIs, Domain Driven Design, Serverless, Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps, building scalable, reliable, available solutions, and Performance testing.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud platform and the services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proficiency in .Net and knowledge of modern programming frameworks.
- Strong track record of leading API modernization and migration efforts.
- Demonstrated experience in cloud migration.
- Hands on experience with containers, SQL DB, NoSQL DB, caching engine, APM AWS.
- Experience in using Domain Driven Design.
- Experience in creating products with scaling and high-performance products and Platform architecture (PaaS, SaaS).
- Experience in Structured (MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres etc.) and unstructured (Mongo, Dynamo etc.) databases.
- Certification in AWS Architecture or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:-
- Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- .NET Core development.
- Angular development.
- Experience with MFE architectures for UI applications.
- Prior experience with working with ForgeRock.
