About The Role

The Manufacturing Quality Manager reports to the Director of Continuous Improvement and works closely with all other functional leaders in the company. The Manufacturing Quality Manager will work with all company functions to ensure that our Quality meets or exceeds all customer expectations of quality and performance.

Responsibilities

• Drive quality mindset through the entire organization, to exceed customer expectations.
• Evaluate, improve and create MIG weld standards and processes.
• Lead quality improvement efforts in designated areas with an ultimate goal of improving "zero defect" performance.
• Oversee and provide guidance for all Manufacturing Quality Auditors and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support Work Instruction Development
• Develop Quality Measurement Tools
• Identify training needs, coordinate, and oversee quality training programs.
• Effectively use problem solving and process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to drive improvements across the organization.
• Work cross functionally with all internal departments and customers.
• Ensure the quality control guidelines are effectively integrated into the manufacturing process to maintain production schedules and reduce cycle times.
• Support implementation, maintenance, and improvements of the existing quality system. Maintain controls to ensure adherence to QA procedures and policies.
• Communicates the status of all quality assurance activities and initiatives to the Director of Quality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, or other related field preferred with 5 years of experience in a quality role in an industrial manufacturing environment. Experience with MIG welding processes and standards (current CWI certification preferred). 3 years supervisory / management experience. Ability to motivate and teach others about Quality and the initiatives to continually improve. Ability to work under pressure from internal and external sources due to personnel issues, manufacturing requirements, time constraints, safety considerations, etc. Ability to identify and adopt new technologies in Quality management. Six Sigma experience desired. Results-oriented, self-starter with a strong track record of achieving results. Ability to easily interact with all levels of the organization.

Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job in the factory areas, the employee is exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust, fumes and is near moving machinery.
