About The Role
This position will facilitate and teach CI initiatives designed to eliminate waste and non-value-added activities and improve performance in People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory. This position will teach, coach, and facilitate improvements using Trail King (TK)m concepts across our defined plants.
Responsibilities
- Work directly under Engineering Manager learning to execute our Lean Strategy.
- Work with local plant teams in analyzing key performance indicators to ensure improvement efforts are strategically aligned and adding value to the bottom line.
- Work with multiple manufacturing sites to coach/develop plant “TK” resources and leaders to support the growth in capability (skills, culture and coaching) for sustaining continuous improvement.
- This position will facilitate and co-facilitate various Continuous Improvement related workshops, training events, projects/Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, process flow charts, line balancing, and other “TK” tools for improvement results that can be leveraged across plants and product lines.
- Ensures that “TK” training, tools, assessments, and resources are available to employees at all levels and are being utilized appropriately and effectively across plants and functions.
- Provide reporting to the Engineering Manager for tracking results to strategic plans and KPI’s.
- Coach the process of developing and deploying effective standard work practices across the plants. Share and reapply proven methods across locations as appropriate.
- Work across business practices to remove barriers and streamline processes by understanding internal and external customer requirements.
- Manage standalone projects that are assigned by the Engineering Manager to support the growth and improvement at the plant level.
- All other duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing preferred, or 5 years’ equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Continuous Improvement and Lean. Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma desired. Basic understanding of Lean Principles in manufacturing operations a must. Hands-on manufacturing experience using modern Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement methods (LEAN, TPS, Kanban, A3 thinking, 5S, Six Sigma etc.) preferred. Experience in HMLV manufacturing environment also preferred.
