Job Title: Youth Program Coordinator
Organization: Trail Lamp Youth Services (TLYS) - BAM! | Business Art Mentorship Youth Program. BAM! is a nonprofit program that empowers underserved and LGBTQ youth through art and business mentorship in the Grand Junction, Colorado area.
Wage: $17-$20 per hour. Location: Central Grand Junction, Colorado
Position Overview: This is a full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours per week. Most Saturdays are required. Sundays are off, and the program coordinator may also select one weekday off.
The Program Coordinator at Trail Lamp Youth Services will play a crucial role in supporting and empowering underserved and LGBTQ youth within the BAM! program.
They will work closely with individual youth, assist in organizing activities and events tailored to meet the specific needs of all participants, and provide resources related to mental health and other essential services.
The Program Coordinator will collaborate with the program manager to facilitate art-related events through our various programs including outreach initiatives, field trips, art club, art markets, youth productions, festivals and more.
They will be responsible for overseeing the people of our programs and working with artist mentors, project leads, parents | guardians and youth participants. They will reach out to the community to foster collaboration and partnership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and coordination of activities and events that cater to the needs of all participants.
- Collaborate with the program team to plan, organize and oversee art-related events, including Art Club Youth, Productions, Community Outreach, and Events.
- Provide one-to-one and group support to underserved and LGBTQ youth within the BAM! program.
- Assist in the coordination of onboarding and training volunteers and staff members.
- Facilitate access to mental health resources and other essential services for underserved and LGBTQ youth.
- Establish partnerships with organizations to enhance collaboration and community engagement.
- Keep accurate records and data
-Utilize Google Suite to provide clear and efficient communication.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting underserved and LGBTQ youth and promoting inclusivity.
- Experience in working with underserved and LGBTQ youth and managing and organizing events or activities.
- Knowledge of mental health resources and services for all youth, including underserved and LGBTQ individuals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities and tasks, manage multiple projects, build relationships and collaborate effectively with all.
- Familiarity with LGBTQ organizations and vital community resources is a plus.
- Understanding of art-related programs or initiatives is preferred.
