Maintenance Engineer

Trailborn’s debut location launched in 2023 at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado, with hotels to follow in the Grand Canyon, Mendocino, CA, Highlands, NC, and Wrightsville Beach, NC. Our Maintenance Engineer creates a memorable guest experience by ensuring the facilities are safe, well maintained, and up kept.

• Report to work when scheduled, on time, in proper and clean uniform, including name tag. Adhere to appearance and conform to Trailborn appearance standards.
• Handle all duties according to Trailborn policies and procedures.
• Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, logbooks, and communication channels to be up to date with all changes, new procedures and/or contributions to events.
• Obtain daily briefings about events to effectively deal with all foreseen situations.
• Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
• Performs miscellaneous minor repairs.
• Performs preventative maintenance on entire facility.
• Fix minor plumbing problems using appropriate techniques.
• Ensure all flammable materials are stored in OSHA and EPA approved containment devices.
• Aid individuals with disabilities, including assisting visually, hearing, or physically impaired individuals within guidelines.
• Follow hazardous material management program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, use Material Safety Data Sheets, etc.
• Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE) and employ the correct lifting procedures, as necessary to avoid injury.
• Complete all daily and shift related checklists.
• Be willing to cross train and assist upon business demands.
• Exhibit a friendly, helpful, learning, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and fellow employees.

• High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
• Basic administrative skills with the ability to learn and use diverse computer software systems, cash handling, managing reservations, maintaining records, and answering phones.
• Problem solving skills with the ability to navigate complex situations, address guest complaints and find solutions promptly.
• Excellent communication skills to include the ability to communicate verbal and written correspondence in English.
• Customer Oriented Attitude exhibiting a friendly, professional demeanor, focused on creating a welcoming atmosphere to the entire work environment.
• Knowledgeable having a quest to learn, be well-informed about the area, services, events, pricing, and promotional offerings.

• Must be able to remain upright and able to continuously move on a firm surface for an 8–10-hour shift.
• Must be able to move at least 50 pounds up to 5 feet high without another person's aid.
• Must be able to ascend to 12 feet in height on a ladder.
• Other duties may be assigned for business needs.

Hospitality demands a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as the business requires coverage including seasonality – on any day at any hour, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

$20 per hour
