Key Responsibilities:
- High-Impact Medicine: Lead spay/neuter surgeries and manage emergency surgeries, making critical real-time decisions that save lives.
- Program Innovation: Develop and implement medical protocols, train shelter staff, and collaborate with local universities to advance shelter medicine practices.
- Champion Animal Welfare: Provide expert testimony in animal cruelty cases, influencing animal protection laws and decisions.
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor veterinary technicians and shelter staff, fostering a culture of compassionate care and high medical standards.
- Community Solutions: Engage in public health initiatives and manage community clinic programs to expand access to veterinary care across the region.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited university.
- Licensing: Active Tennessee license to practice veterinary medicine.
- Experience: Comfort and skill in performing surgeries, including high-volume spay/neuter and emergency procedures.
- Skills: Excellent written and oral communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific aptitude.

- Salary Range: $106,923.76 - $165,731.85 annually, based on experience.
