Please note: We are currently only hiring for day shifts (10:15a-4:30p or 12:00p-4:30p).
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Assistant Facility Manager, the Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for greeting and providing a welcoming environment to all patrons. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate with customers and all levels of staff and possess the ability to work with diverse populations. Receptionists are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and treat the public and co-workers fairly and respectfully.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet customers and communicate the most updated information to patrons walking into the recreation center.
- Answer incoming telephone calls, respond to questions and/or direct calls to appropriate department/staff.
- Use of Amilia Recreation Software to sell passes and registration of classes/programs.
- Responsible for collection of payments for daily admissions, facility passes, registration classes, pro shop and any other services offered.
- Responsible for balancing daily receipts and end of shift reporting.
- Promotes positive customer relations and staff teamwork.
- Maintains cleanliness and organized appearance of the front desk.
- Walks through the facility periodically, enforcing rules and regulations and reports concerns to Management.
- Report concerns with cleanliness/equipment malfunctions to the Maintenance department.
- Open or close the facility as appropriate by locking and unlocking the facility with the use of keys, keypad entry and security alarm code.
- Dress and appearance are consistent with department standards including uniform requirements and personal hygiene.
- Establishes and maintains a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, and teamwork.
- Must maintain a positive and friendly attitude while engaged in stressful and/or controversial situations
with patrons and co-workers.
- Follow all Trails Park and Recreation District's policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff and general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Possess skills to maintain a safe environment, as well as performing quality work.
- Reliable transportation or a means to making it to work shifts on time.
- Ability to understand, comprehend, and follow all policies and procedures as well as verbalized and written instructions directed by management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to interact with the public in a positive and professional manner in possibly stressful and emotionally charged situations.
- May require long periods of standing.
- Ability to stand, reach and kneel.
- Ability to talk and/or hear managers, co-workers, and general public.
- Ability to lift, carry or transport objects up to 50 lbs. assisted.
- Ability to see objects closely and at a distance.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
- Proficient administrative skills including knowledge and use of computers and software.
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days after hire date.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evening, weekends, and holidays.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous customer service experience.
- Previous experience working in a recreation facility setting.
Salary : $15 - $23
