Trailways of New York, a prominent family-owned intercity bus company established in 1926, is currently seeking skilled Automotive and entry-level Diesel Technicians to join our team at the Pine Hill/New York Trailways Fleet Maintenance Facility in Kingston, NY.
As a Diesel Technician Helper , you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our modern fleet of motor coaches, ensuring safe and efficient transportation services throughout New York State and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems of motor coaches.
- Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines while working in a shop setting.
- When necessary, assists with the safety, maintenance, cleanliness and of the shop.
- Assists in maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of one year’s mechanical experience in the diesel or automotive industry.
- Availability for 1st shift training with flexibility for 2nd shift work including holidays and weekends.
- Possess own basic tools required for the job.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical examination.
- Valid NYS driver's license.
- Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to learning.
- Capability to work independently as well as part of a team.
