Training Technologies and Support, Inc. is interviewing for Custodial Technicians to support a government customer in Omaha, NE.
The Custodial Technician works directly for the TTS Custodial Technician Supervisor and provides a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment to ensure full and productive use of a Veterans Affairs medical center. To accomplish this, the Custodial Technician must work closely with both company and government co-workers as well as the Custodial Technician Supervisor. Work is performed across three shifts that cover all 24 hours daily and all days to include weekends and federal holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs cleaning and disinfecting of various areas including all non-carpeted floors, carpeted areas, stairs, elevators, handicap lifts, and walk off mats.
- Collects and removes trash and recyclable materials.
- Cleans and disinfects drinking fountains and ice machines.
- Cleans, disinfects, and sanitizes restrooms and locker rooms using NWI EVS germicidal solutions.
- Cleans windows and interior glass.
- Dusts furniture and areas.
- Cleans and disinfects mops and rags.
- Performs periodic deep cleaning tasks such as stripping and waxing floors and deep cleaning carpets as scheduled
- Completes any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- One year of experience in custodial work in a medical facility is preferred but not required.
- Must possess or be able to acquire HIPPA certification and certifications in medical cleaning procedures (e.g., bloodborne pathogen training and product training in sterile environments).
- Must adhere to OSHA training standards and protocols for handling regulated medical waste.
- Knowledge and experience of infection control requirements, proper cleaning methods and custodial requirements, protocols for bloodborne pathogens, cleaning chemicals and equipment is preferred.
- Must have the ability to use job related tools or equipment with expertise acquired through experience and/or specialized training.
- Must have up-to-date immunizations as specified for healthcare workers.
- Must be able to gain access to federal government facilities and implement and follow all federal and building health and safety policies.
- Must be able to work independently without supervision.
- Must demonstrate flexibility required to react to changes and frequent interruptions in a positive and productive manner.
- Must possess verbal and interpersonal skills required to interact professionally with personnel and patients in a healthcare environment.
- Must possess basic proficiency in computer skills required to complete government background check application, company onboarding, and timekeeping requirements.
- Physically able to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials up to 45 lbs. and to meet physical requirements of stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, reaching, climbing, and balancing consistent with janitorial duties.
